Minolta Minolta has developed very convincing film scanners for small and medium picture format, which are in top form using SilverFast. Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 (not Elite 5400 II) • Small picture film scanner • Optical resolution: 5.400 x 5.400 dpi • Color depth: 48 bit • incl. Film holders for slides and 35mm filmstrips The DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 was introduced to the market in 2003 with surprise of an optical resolution of 5400 dpi, that hasn't been obtained before. The image quality is convincing, though, the Scan Elite isn't the quickest film scanner, when compared to others. Filmholders for scanning framed slides and fimstrips are included in delivery as well as a large software package. Baca Manga Naruto Chapter 645 Bahasa Indonesia.

The Scan Elite 5400 works best with the lastest SilverFast version.

I have been trying to get my Minolta Dimage Scan 5400 to work on my Windows 7 64-bit system. I finally found a solution that works, actually its running in the background as I type this.

This does not need the Windows XP emulation mode or the Windows Virtual PC option. Just plain vanilla Windows 74 64-bit (although should work on 32-bit W7 and Vista but I have not tested that). The solution should work for any of the Minolta scanners in the list, but again I have not tested. I take no credit for this solution, I am only the messenger on this one. Credit for the solution belongs to Kain Anderson who provided the information at Solution 2 on the link below. The biggest problem I have had is getting the Minolta 5400 to work at all on this machine, even with Windows XP, even though it had worked in the past.

It kept producing 'Error 1' which is indicative of USB communication problems. Having updated chipset drivers and everything else without success, I plugged it into the USB slots on the monitor to check something and it works. Seems to be the only USB slots on the machine it likes, even though most people will tell you never to connect a scanner through a hub. Worth noting, you might have to go to the executable C: Program Files (x86) DiMAGEScan DiMAGEScan.exe and right click to set compatibility to Windows XP apps, not sure if necessary, but was one of the things I did. Good luck and thanks again to Kain Anderson for publishing this. I think you'll find Vuescan's dust removal works well with the 5400 as it's able to use the IR scan in the scanner. Have seen his 5400 scans of Velvia, done with Vuescan, and printed large (on 610mm wide roll paper). They're stunning, and I don't think he had to do muc cleaning up after Vuescan did it's stuff. Hello, Can anyone help me? After a software crash last week of Windows XP my excellent Dimage Scan Elite 5400 refuses to work. After loading the software and trying to get the scanner to operate I get ERROR = 4 COULD NOT CONFIRM SCANNER CONNECTION. I understand that it could be something to do with a 'driver'.

I am 70 and find using a computer the best thing ever but once it gets down the the technical bit then I am lost. Blaupunkt Radio Codes From Serial Number on this page. Would anyone be prepared to email me with step by step details of how I can get my scanner to work again. It will have to be instructions in easy terms, as I am not a technical expert. I have 35mm negatives going back almost 50 years and I am quite anxious to save them onto discs.

I am reluctant to call out another engineer as I did feel somewhat 'lost' with his attitude towards the fact that I wasn't 'up to speed' with computers. This is a genuine plea for help, I will be extremely grateful if you can help. Posts: 1 Joined: Wed Nov 28, 2012 4:28 pm.

Hello Ian - welcome to the forum Lots of people here with experience of the 5400 and Windows XP, so might have been better to start a new thread for your topic. This topic deals with 'Windows 7' so some people with relevant experience might miss it. Maybe do that with your reply Need some more information from you like have you deleted and installed the Minolta drivers again and what else have you tried, eg different USB port or USB cable. Don't worry about asking basic questions here, you will find it helps others in a similar predicament - especially if we can get you started again.
