Sony Portable Dvd Player Region Code Unlock

I am a huge anime fan, and many of the series that I follow have not been released in the United States yet, so if I order them on DVD from Japan, I would not have been able to play them on my DVD player because of the Region Zone. That is, until recently. For those that may not know, DVDs are hard coded for world use through zones. The current codes are as follows: • Region 1 - US and Canada • Region 2 - Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, and Greenland • Region 3 - S. Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Parts of Southeast Asia • Region 4 - Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America (including Mexico) • Region 5 - Eastern Europe, Russia, India, and Africa • Region 6 - China • Region 7 - Reserved for Special Use • Region 8 - Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc. • Region 9, 0, or All - Uncoded for Worldwide use There are many reasons why this encoding is in place - licensing issues, censorship, but mainly money.

Studios release movies at different times across the globe, and if it is available on DVD in the United States before it is released in France, they could potentially lose out on box office receipts if the consumer could purchase the DVD. Consumers are often told if they have a Region 1 player, it will not play Region 2 disks. That is not truly the case. Most DVD players can be unlocked using a simple code from the remote. In order to unlock your DVD player, you need two things: your DVD player model number and the hack found.

May 16, 2007. I am a huge anime fan, and many of the series that I follow have not been released in the United States yet, so if I order them on DVD from Japan, I would not have been able to play them on my DVD player because of the Region Zone. That is, until. Remove any disc still in the player and switch it to standby or off mode. Turn on the player and press the open tray button on the remote control. Press 9, 7, 3, 5 on the remote control and wait for the region code box to appear on-screen.

This site is a search engine that lists thousands of hack codes to unlock your DVD player. The latest player that I unlocked was a CyberHome CH-DVD 300 that I got from WalMart for $29.99. The process was simple and painless. Here are the steps I had to take to set it to uncoded or worldwide use: • Power On • Open Tray • Press Menu, 1, 9 • Change Zone to 0 (third line from the bottom) • Press Enter • Press Open/Close (Eject) Voila! One uncoded DVD player capable of playing DVDs from anywhere in the world. One word of warning: Using any hacks on your player can void your warranty, so try this at your own risk.

I purchased a Mistral Select dvd player ($20 TOTAL!) on eBay, and it's a fabulous machine. It's region-free out of the box, and it has one unique and very appealing feature: it bypasses the FBI warning, the trailers and all the other annoyances and goes straight to the opening credits. Of course, if you want to view those things, you can press the MENU button to see them. NOTE: when you first hook it up, it might be rolling and in black & white on your monitor. Remedy: push NB on the remote several times to normalize the picture. Then press SETUP on the remote control, find LAST MEMORY and turn it off. Now you're open for business!

You'll love the player. One more nice feature on the machine: there are control buttons on the front of the player. Unlike many dvd players that can only be controlled via the remote control, if your dog eats the remote, you can still play dvds or cds. Hi Justice, try this: 1.With the DVD player turned on, press the 'Setup' button on your remote control, to enter the system menu. 2.Press the right arrow button on your remote control until you have the 'Password Setup Page' displayed. 3.Then press '8888' using your remote control. This will subsequently display a 'Region Code' screen.

4.Using the up and down arrows on your remote control you can specify the region you require. To enable multi-regional play we recommend setting the unit to: Region Code 0. 5.Press the 'Enter' button on your remote control to confirm •. The comment(s) above has instructions which I thought will make the region-3 player become region-free. But it only changed the player to get locked to region-1. I found out when I tried region-1, region-3 and region-6 discs.

Only region-1 played. Once I returned the numbers menu to the original default setting, only region-3 played. I had received an anonymous comment in my blog with alternate instructions. I tried the alternate instructions (after returning the numbers menu to the original default), and found that my DVD player Samsung DVD-C350 is now region-free. I could play all the three discs of different regions without any 'Wrong region' message. Click my name in this comment (not previous comments) to go to my blog post where I have posted the alternate instructions.

The original comment by the anonymous person is also available. Thanks a zillion to Anonymous! Download Soal Spa Polines De Madera there.

The above instructions could also work for DVD-C350K, DVDC360, DVD-C450 and DVD-C450K since they're in same series. I have a Samsung DVD-C350 that's locked to region 3, and I wanted to play a region 1 disc. After trying everything I could find, I discovered that this works: Make sure no disc is in player. Press Power button on player (not remote) to turn on player. Wait for No Disc message on TV screen. (The following buttons are on the remote.) Press Repeat (plain, not A-B).

Press Fast Rewind (two arrows to left, no line). Press Next Chapter (two arrows to right with line). Press Fast Forward. Press Previous Chapter.

You will get a menu full of numbers.** I don't know what any of the numbers mean but taking clues from instructions available for H1080 DVD players, I highlighted all numbers from 1 to 9. Use arrow buttons and Enter button to highlight or unhighlight numbers. ** NOTE: I recommend you backup the original highlights in the numbers menu by noting it down on the back of the player's manual or some place safe.

You may want to revert to the original settings when you want to send the device for warranty or if something goes wrong. Press Play button (on remote) to save the new highlights. The player will turn off. Wait 5 seconds then press Power button on player (not remote). You will get a Language menu.

Select English (or any language) and you can pop in a Region 1 disc immediately. This worked for my region 1 disc and my C350 DVD player played it like a piece of cake! I'm not sure if the above arrangement of highlights will work for other regions, but the instructions I found says it will make the player region-free.

Do let us know if it works for you! The above instructions could also work for DVD-C350K, DVDC360, DVD-C450 and DVD-C450K since they're in same series.
